Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health Healthcare Centers in Schools received a $5,000 award to implement PlaySmart at a local Baton Rouge high school. Healthcare Centers in Schools will be one of 15 sites nationwide to participate in this program through a recent partnership with Yale Center for Health & Learning Games, funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Our Lady of the Lake Health (OLOL) has partnered with Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) to build a program that allows Our Lady of the Lake medical assistants (MAs) a clear and accelerated pathway to obtain an associate degree and become licensed practical nurses (LPNs).
"This program provides not only our team members new opportunities to advance their careers, but it also provides members of our community greater access to patient care by broadening our workforce," said Nicole Telhiard, Our Lady of the Lake senior vice president of patient care services.

Physician Summit Awards are given annually to outstanding healthcare providers who achieve the highest scores in key Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) quality measures across the health plan’s network.
