Our Lady of the Lake Health announced the opening of its new Community Impact Center, located at 2041 Silverside Drive in Baton Rouge. The center will provide office space free of charge to 11 local nonprofits, creating a central hub for organizations that work to improve the lives of individuals and families in the Baton Rouge area.
"We are thrilled to open the Community Impact Center and provide these organizations with the space and support they need to make a greater impact in Baton Rouge," said Chuck Spicer, president of Our Lady of the Lake Health. "As we enter the giving season, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to being a good neighbor and partner to those who are working hard to make our community better. Nonprofits are the backbone of so many important causes, and we believe that by supporting them, we can all help make a difference."
The organizations at the Community Impact Center include:
-American Heart Association
-The Safety Place
-Baton Rouge Area Youth Network
-Dialogue on Race
-Baton Rouge Zoo Foundation
-Capital Area Autism Network
-Move Project
-JK Reed
-OneBReath
-Louisiana Human Resources Development Institute
-Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits
The center will allow these nonprofits to collaborate, share resources, and continue their missions of supporting vulnerable populations, fostering social change, and improving the quality of life for all in the region.
Our Lady of the Lake welcomed these organizations with a special open house ceremony on Dec. 5, where community members were able to tour the space, learn more about each organization, and participate in a blessing of the building.
