Baton Rouge General (BRG) has is opening a new family medicine clinic in Central, led by Shaun Spinks, MD, and Daniel Daire, FNP. With the Fast Pass registration option, patients can check in for appointments with the BRG app or at an onsite kiosk, and fill out their forms ahead of time, eliminating the clipboards and stacks of papers while sitting in a waiting room.

Gov. John Bel Edwards and the Louisiana Department of Health congratulate the first two lucky Louisianans to be rewarded through the Shot at A Million program for going Sleeves Up against COVID-19.

Clement Dasalla and Skyla Degrasse were selected in the drawing conducted by the Louisiana Lottery Corporation and overseen by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor on July 14.

Dasalla, an 80-year-old New Orleans resident, won the first of four $100,000 Shot at A Million cash prizes.

Degrasse, a 17-year-old from Hammond, won the first of nine $100,000 scholarships.

Baton Rouge General is hosting a clothing drive to benefit the United Cajun Navy as the group prepares for a potentially active hurricane season. Community members can drop off gently used clothing and shoes from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. TODAY, July 23 at their Bluebonnet site. The clothing items will be distributed as needed during post-hurricane recoveries.
