Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is celebrating 15 years of providing comprehensive cardiovascular care in Zachary. From the beginning, CIS fostered a close partnership with Lane Regional Medical Center (Lane), and together, the two formed a comprehensive cardiovascular program.
Since then, more than 20,000 procedures have been performed, 450 patients have been treated for heart attacks, and a new state-of-the-art catheterization laboratory is set to be installed at Lane in November of this year.
In the Sep/Oct 2019 issue of Healthcare Journal of Baton Rouge, Smith W. Hartley shared with readers he had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, stating that “finding out you have brain cancer is an interesting perspective.”
