530,000 in Louisiana could be without government-provided health insurance
WASHINGTON — A report released by Democrats details how many people in each state would lose access to Medicaid if Republicans in Congress were to cut the program by one-third — a scenario some GOP lawmakers have floated as an option to help pay for tax cuts, though one so sweeping it would struggle to get the votes needed to become law.
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) unveiled the new Central Louisiana State Hospital (CLSH) in Pineville with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The state-of-the-art facility provides care for up to 116 patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses, with a focus on rehabilitation and preparing patients for success. Long in the making, the $33 million renovation and relocation project marks a new chapter for the historic state hospital.

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University introduced an interactive escape room experience designed to make learning more engaging and impactful. On Feb. 28, from 1-4 p.m., 29 physician assistant (PA) students participated in a unique training session that merges critical thinking, teamwork, and real-world medical skills.
