CHRISTUS Health and Ochsner Health System (Ochsner) announced today that they have signed a letter of intent (LOI) to pursue a joint venture of current CHRISTUS operations in the Lake Charles area. The joint venture will have responsibility for all future health care facilities and services operated by the two health systems in the region.

The Humana Foundation will be announcing on June 29 a new initiative with Capital Area Human Services District that will improve physical health outcomes, and increase life expectancies for adults with serious mental illnesses.
The peer-led Total Health Program will focus on integrated primary and behavioral healthcare services, such as a support groups, instructor-led fitness classes, nutrition and health education, and smoking cessation.
