Richard R. Vath, MD, president and chief executive officer of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, has announced his plans to retire in June 2024 after more than 40 years of service as a physician and healthcare administrator.
“It has been my honor to lead an organization firmly rooted in the service of others through our healing ministry,” said Vath. “I have been privileged to help set us down a path that will define the future of our healthcare system, ensuring growth and stability for years to come.”

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has received a $15,000 grant from Sisters Network® Inc. Karen E. Jackson Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP) to expand access to mammogram services for uninsured women across the region. This funding will be used to support Mary Bird Perkins’ Prevention on the Go (POGO) program and will extend services to women across 31 parishes in Louisiana and four counties in Southwest Mississippi.

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health welcomes Jeanne Pipsair, PA-C, to its St. Francisville clinic. Pipsair received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University and completed a physician assistant degree through the Emory University School of Medicine’s physician assistant program. She joins Brooke Bock, MD, in the practice of pediatrics.

Woman’s Hospital will host Improvements in the Multidisciplinary Care of Cancer Patients Conference, a free educational event, on Sept. 14 from 4:30-7 p.m.
Continuing education credit is available for qualifying attendees. Virtual attendance via Zoom is available.
The conference will be held in Woman’s Hospital J. E. Dunn Conference Rooms 1-3, 100 Woman’s Way in Baton Rouge. Dinner will be provided.
