Open Health Care Clinic has hired Kristy Mayes as its new chief development officer to oversee all development and fundraising efforts for the nonprofit organization. Mayes has been actively involved in nonprofit development and fundraising in the Baton Rouge community for more than 20 years in both a professional and volunteer role.

Ochsner Baton Rouge announced the appointment of Charles D. “Chuck” Daigle as regional CEO, Ochsner Baton Rouge and Lake Charles. Daigle joins the Ochsner Baton Rouge team after serving as the CEO for Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, La., since its inception in 2018. Daigle will work collaboratively with Eric McMillen, who will continue overseeing hospital and surgical operations as CEO of Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge, Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove (surgical hospital), and Ochsner Medical Complex – Iberville (emergency department).

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is partnering with higher education outlets across the state to fund a $1.5 million program to eliminate health disparities and create a more inclusive, representative healthcare system. The Equity in Health and Care initiative will implement coordinated strategies in partnership with Xavier University, Bossier Parish Community College, and Delgado Community College. The initiative will focus on four major areas: equity in health outcomes, diversity and inclusion in the healthcare workforce, economic social determinants of health, and community health.
