52 MAR / APR 2025 I HEALTHCARE JOURNAL OF BATON ROUGE Hospital Rounds Woman’s Hospital Announces Distribution of Newborn Essential Support Toolkits On Jan. 10, Woman’s Hospital hosted a press conference with U.S. Representative Julia Letlow to announce the launch of their Newborn Essen- tial Support Toolkits. Woman’s is now the sixth recipient in Louisiana to distribute the kits, which are supplied through a public-private partner- ship between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Baby2Baby, a 501(c)(3) non- profit organization that provides families across the country with diapers, clothing, and other basic necessities. Following a private tour of the facility, Rep. Let- low joined Woman’s Hospital CEO Rene Ragas and Louisiana State Senator Regina Barrow to speak on the importance of perinatal mental health and Congresswoman Letlow’s NEST Act. The NEST Act seeks to expand the distribution of newborn supply kits made up of essential goods critical to new mothers and their infants. Woman’s Celebrates Breast &GYNCancer Survivors with Second Line On January 15, Woman’s Hospital hosted a Breast & GYN Cancer Survivor Second Line fol- lowed by a special performance by Southern’s Human Jukebox and Fabulous Dancing Dolls. Held at the hospital’s main campus in Baton Rouge, the event celebrated breast and GYN can- cer survivors and served as a reminder for every woman to make their health a priority by sched- uling their well-woman exam and mammogram with an OB-GYN every year. Attended by staff, patients, family, and friends, the second line started in the Woman’s Cancer Pavilion lobby then made its way through the first floor of the Physician Office Building, through the main corridor of the hospital, and onto the plaza outside of Woman’s Way Cafe. There, guests were treated to a special performance by Southern’s Human Jukebox and Fabulous Dancing Dolls. Children’s Hospital NewOrleans is NowManning Family Children’s Children’s Hospital New Orleans is marking 70 years of service to children’s health the announce- ment of a transformational partnership with the Manning Family. This collaboration unites Children’s Hospital New Orleans and the Manning Family (Olivia, Archie, Cooper, Peyton, and Eli) – who share a deep commitment to innovation, compassion, and world-class pediatric care. The LCMC Health and Children’s Hospital New Orleans boards of trustees announced that Chil- dren’s Hospital New Orleans will be renamed Manning Family Children’s. “We are truly honored to partner with Children’s Hospital New Orleans in this powerful moment as we look toward a brighter future for kids and fam- ilies together,” said Archie Manning. “Our family has always believed in the importance of giving back to the community that has given so much to us. Renaming Children’s Hospital New Orleans to Manning Family Children’s is a symbol of our shared commitment to providing children with the best possible care and support, right here at home, and for generations to come.” Calling New Orleans home for more than 50 years, the Manning Family is celebrated not only for their athletic achievements, but also for their dedication to uplifting communities. “Throughout our history, Children’s Hospital has been deeply rooted in its mission to provide com- passionate, expert care for all children,” said Greg Feirn, CEO of LCMC Health. “The Manning Fam- ily’s transformational commitment underscores their belief in this mission, inspiring us to con- tinue delivering excellence in health care, and to transform pediatric health outcomes – together.” “The Manning Family shares our commitment to improving the health and well-being of future gen- erations,” said Lucio A.
