BRGMid City ClinicWelcomes Amber Robins, MD Amber Robins, MD, has joined Baton Rouge General (BRG) and will treat patients at one of BRG’s Mid City clinic locations, Family Health Center. Board-certified in family medicine, Robins com- pleted a medical degree and residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. Robins will also take care of patients as part of BRG’s new community initiative, BRG Care on the Go, which will bring primary and urgent care ser- vices to Mid City and North Baton Rouge through a new mobile health unit. The initiative launches at the end of September. Mindy Bowie, MD, FACS, Joins Mary Bird Perkins Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center announced the addition of Mindy Bowie, MD, FACS, a fel- lowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, to its team. Bowie’s arrival enhances Mary Bird Perkins’ robust multidisciplinary breast cancer program, which already includes top-tier services in medical oncology, radiation oncology, advanced imaging, and comprehensive survivorship care. Bowie is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is an active member of the American College of Surgeons and serves as the secretary for the Louisiana Chapter of the Amer- ican College of Surgeons and an active mem- ber of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Bowie earned a Bachelor of Science in microbi- ology and Master of Science from Louisiana State University. She completed a medical degree, general surgery internship, and residency at LSU Health Sciences Center, followed by a breast sur- gical oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Cen- ter in Tampa, Fla. She practiced in Florida for several years prior to her return to Louisiana. With over a decade of experience in the Baton Rouge community, Bowie is known for her com- mitment to early breast cancer detection and innovative treatment techniques. She and her team are excited to join Mary Bird Perkins, where she will continue her work in survivorship and high-risk clinics while expanding patient access to clinical trials. “Dr. Bowie is an established leader in cancer care and we are honored to have her join our team,” said Jonas Fontenot, CEO of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. “Her proven expertise and commitment to the highest standards of care will strengthen our ability to deliver comprehensive, leading-edge breast cancer treatments.
