Chief Medical Officer R. Since the ‘80s, nearly 3,000 local leaders have gone through these programs to learn and strengthen their skills alongside some of the brightest minds in the state. Individuals selected for Leadership Louisiana and Leadership Baton Rouge join thousands of alumni representing every major sector: corpo- rate, professional, government, finance, news- media, education, industry, healthcare, legal, uni- versity, political, culture, and nonprofit. Both programs require members to take train- ing courses throughout the year to expand inter- sectional awareness within the community. At the end of the year, members graduate with first-hand knowledge of issues facing the region and state. Topic areas during training include education and workplace development, diversity and inclu- sivity, city and state government, healthcare and social issues, economic development, arts and culture, and the criminal justice system.
