Ruth Johnson JoinsWoman’s Hospital as VP of Public Revenue Integrity Woman’s Hospital announced that Ruth John- son will join the hospital as vice president of pub- lic revenue integrity beginning May 1. In the new role, Johnson will provide vision and leadership of systematic revenue cycle operations and healthcare policy. Johnson has been a public servant for more than three decades and has worked in state agencies across Louisiana, South Carolina, and Texas. Most recently, she served as undersecretary for the Lou- isiana Department of Health (LDH) after her pro- motion from Medicaid director. OLOL Health Announces Phillip Allen, MD, as VP, Chief of Surgery, Perioperative Services Our Lady of the Lake Health has announced Phillip Allen, MD, as vice president, chief of sur- gery, and perioperative services. In this role, Allen will oversee and lead the surgery depart- ment at the region’s only Level I trauma center and throughout the Baton Rouge region. Allen joined Our Lady of the Lake Health in 2013, serving as an otolaryngologist, medical director of North Oaks Health System Graduates Dietetic Interns North Oaks Health System’s Dietetic Intern- ship faculty and staff honored seven graduates for completing the program with a graduation ceremony on June 15. The health system’s Chief Human Resources Officer Jeff Jarreau presided over the ceremony, held at the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center on the North Oaks Medical Center campus. Graduates included Peyton Cherry of Coving- ton; Pamela Cosio of Oxnard, California; Han- nah LeCompte of Husser; Gabriella Miller and Alexis Theriot of Hammond; Yoshihiro Motomura of Chico, California (originally from Japan); and Cam’ryn Panks of Baton Rouge. Two graduates received awards. Alexis Theriot received the Mary Nelson Award that is given by program preceptors and faculty in recognition of eagerness to learn, dedication to the profession, and high professional standards. The award was presented by North Oaks Clinical Nutrition Manager Ashley Smith and is named for the late Mary Nelson, who gave 30 years to the profession of dietetics and educating dietitians. Yoshihiro Motomura was selected by his peers to receive the Dannye Young Taylor “Always Remembering Others” Award in recognition of selfless assistance of others and teamwork. Now retired, Taylor was a longtime patient represen- tative for North Oaks Health System. The award was created in her honor by her husband, Rodney Taylor, MD, in recognition of her motto, “Always remember others.” North Oaks Dietetic Intern- ship Program Director Leslie Ballard presented the award to Motomura. Woman’s Hospital Board of Directors Elects Officers, Announces Rose Hudson as Board Chair The Woman’s Hospital Board of Directors announced it has elected officers to serve for the 2023-2024 year. Rose Hudson, president and CEO of Louisiana Lottery Corporation, will serve as the board chair. Hudson has served as a member of the Woman’s Board since 2016. In addition, Cheree Schwartzenburg, MD, was selected to serve as chair-elect while Chris Ciesielski will serve as secretary/treasurer. Schwartzenburg, an OB-GYN with Schwartzen- burg, Lafranca, Guidry & Magee, and Ciesielski, managing director of NFP Corporate Services LA, Inc., have both served since 2020. Ochsner BR Pharmacy Manager Elected President of Louisiana Society of Health- SystemPharmacists Renesha Yarbrough, pharmacy manager-opera- tions for Ochsner Baton Rouge, has been elected incoming president of the Louisiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She will serve as pres- ident-elect for 2023-2024, as president from 2024- 2025, and as immediate past president 2025-2026. Yarbrough has been a member of the group for eight years and previously served as president of its south-central region.
