52 JUL / AUG 2023 I  HEALTHCARE JOURNAL OF BATON ROUGE NURSING COLUMN NURSING THE 2022 Louisiana State Board of Nurs- ing (LSBN) licensure renewal season marked the eighth year of renewals us- ing the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Optimal Regulatory Board System (ORBS) online licensure renewal system. This is the fifth year that LSBN will have licensure data on all li- censed registered nurses (RNs) and ad- vanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) available through ORBS. The LSBN IT Department, Center for Nursing (LCN), and the ORBS Team have worked diligent- ly over the last eight years to ensure the quality and accuracy of the data that will be used by our stakeholders to inform pol- icymakers related to Louisiana’s RN and APRN workforce.
