Impact Network Physician Group Joins Ochsner Baton Rouge Ochsner Baton Rouge announced a partner- ship with Impact Network, a critical care, intensiv- ist, and hospital medicine physician group. The agreement provides additional physician and advanced practice provider support exclusively at Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge and Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove. Impact Network is a group of 20 providers, including 12 board-certified physicians and eight additional advanced practitioners. They special- ize in treating hospitalized patients in both medi- cal and intensive care settings, as well as caring for patients recovering from surgery. As part of Impact Network, Mohammed Pirza- dah, MD, will serve as the Ochsner Baton Rouge medical director of hospital medicine and critical care. He is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care. Our Lady of the Lake Team Members Honored Thirty-three team members of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and its subsidiary campuses in the Baton Rouge market, as well as FranU, were honored at a reception held at the Renaissance Hotel in November. Each received the Franciscan Service Award in the year preced- ing the reception. Lillian Tate, a nursing director at the regional medical center and a team member for more than 25 years, was also recognized with the Mother Gertrude Leadership Award. The Mother Gertrude Leadership Award is pre- sented annually to a team member who models visionary leadership, just and right relationships, and advocates for change and sustainability of the ministry while mentoring the next generation of leaders. The Franciscan Service Award (FSA) is the high- est form of recognition sponsored by the Francis- can Missionaries of Our Lady, the sisters that spon- sor the institutions of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, including Our Lady of the Lake, its affiliated organizations, and FranU. Ochsner Medical Center – BR Earns ‘A’ Safety Grade fromLeapfrog Group Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for Fall 2022. This national distinc- tion recognizes facilities for their achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital. Woman’s Hospital Wins 2022 Safety Star Award Louisiana Hospital Association Trust Funds (LHA Trust Funds) designated Woman’s Hospital as one of its 2022 Safety Star Award winners. The Safety Star Award is presented to healthcare facilities that develop and implement new, innovative ideas to improve patient safety. Safety Star Award winners receive recognition from LHA Trust Funds and a $10,000 award for the facility. Winners also receive paid registra- tion and expenses for the facility CEO to attend the LHA Winter Symposium and one designated staff member to attend the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management Conference. To decrease chances of workplace violence, Woman’s conducted a comprehensive safety assessment to identify all potential vulnerabilities on its campus. As a result, Woman’s restructured its security program, created an internal security force and implemented a “Fast-Pass” tracking system that requires all visitors to register with a photo ID. Woman’s transitioned to an in-house security system, stationing armed Security Response Offi- cers (SROs) and other unarmed guards through- out the facility. SROs are highly skilled security professionals who typically have backgrounds in law enforcement and/or military and are trained in a number of different security threat scenar- ios including response to an active shooter/gun threat. Additional security investments include: • Patient/clinical care rapid lockdown system. • Two new mobile security vehicles. • “Woman’s First Alert” Emergency Notifica- tion System. • Enhanced departmental training exercises. • LED lights in campus parking lots. Baton Rouge General Residents Accepted into Fellowship Positions Five graduates of Baton Rouge General’s Inter- nal Medicine Residency Program (IMRP) were accepted into fellowship positions at hospital sys- tems and academic institutions across the coun- try.
