Baton Rouge General Opens Residential Center for Substance Use Disorder inMid City Baton Rouge General announced the open- ing of Baton Rouge Recovery Health, a residen- tial center, which provides inpatient treatment for the adult male population struggling with sub- stance use disorder. Located at 933 North Foster Drive, the 16-bed residential treatment center is newly renovated and located on beautiful, serene grounds lined with oak trees. It provides compre- hensive 28-day treatment in a safe, comfortable, home-like environment. “Behavioral health care is one of our commu- nity’s biggest challenges, and our goal is to con- tinue to serve Baton Rouge by offering this critical and often difficult care,” said Edgardo Tenreiro, BRG’s CEO. “This residential center treating sub- stance use disorder is just one of the ways we are helping to fill the void in the needed support for mental health.” Treatment includes both group and individ- ual therapy with residents working through the 12-step program, as well as time for self-reflec- tion and personal assignments. Education is also an important component of a successful treat- ment program, as many people don’t realize the full extent of both the mental and physical pro- cesses of addiction. Baton Rouge Recovery Health complements BRG’s existing behavioral health services, which includes inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults ages 18 and older. Woman’s Hospital Honored by Press Ganey for Patient Experience Woman’s has been recognized by Press Ganey as one of the nation’s leaders in providing excep- tional patient experience for both inpatient care and outpatient surgery. This is the seventh straight year that Woman’s has earned the Guardian of Excellence Award for being in the top 5% in the country in outstanding inpatient experience and the first time for ambulatory (outpatient) surgery. “Given the strict visitation restrictions that came with COVID-19, our team members stepped in to provide the presence and emotional support that is traditionally offered by the loved ones and friends who were unable to visit some of the sick- est patients in our hospital,” said Cheri Johnson, Woman’s Hospital chief nursing officer. “They held hands and wiped tears, they sat at bedsides, and they provided much needed social interaction, laughter, and emotional support.” Press Ganey, a leading provider of patient expe- rience measurement and performance analytics for healthcare organizations, gives this award annually to the top organizations who have achieved the 95th percentile or higher for any of a set of designated survey measures, including likelihood to recommend, overall rating and/or teamwork.
