Workplace Partnership for Life is a national ini- tiative that unites the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the organ donation com- munity with workplaces throughout the nation to spread the word about the importance of dona- tion. Platinum recognition signifies Lane’s commit- ment to being a workplace partner and spread- ing awareness and promoting donor registration. To achieve this distinction, Lane continues to honor organ, eye and tissue donors by support- ing LOPA’s events during the year and also uses available resources to spread awareness and infor- mation at every opportunity. Baton Rouge General Adds Bone Health Center at Bluebonnet Campus Baton Rouge General (BRG) announced a new Bone Health Center, led by Angela Roy, PA-C. Cer- tified by the National Osteoporosis Foundation as a fracture liaison specialist, Roy specializes in diag- nosing and treating osteoporosis. “There are many factors that can increase your risk of developing osteoporosis, including a fam- ily history, smoking, a diet low in calcium and vita- min D, and certain conditions like type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel dis- ease,” Roy said. “The best defense is taking steps to prevent osteoporosis, like proper nutrition and an active lifestyle. If you are concerned about your bone health or your risk for osteoporosis, talk to your doctor about getting a thorough evaluation.” Roy received a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science and a Master of Medical Science in Physi- cian Assistant Studies from Our Lady of the Lake College. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, her expe- rience includes orthopedics, rheumatology and bone health. Roy is also a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation, the Rheumatology Alli- ance of Louisiana and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Ochsner Baton Rouge Expands Leadership Team Ochsner Baton Rouge announced the appoint- ment of Charles D. “Chuck” Daigle as regional CEO, Ochsner Baton Rouge and Lake Charles. Daigle joins the Ochsner Baton Rouge team after serving as the CEO for Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport since its inception in 2018. Daigle will work collaboratively with Eric McMillen, who will continue overseeing hospital and surgical opera- tions as CEO of Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge, Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove (surgical hospital) and Ochsner Medical Complex – Iberville (emergency department). “Ochsner Health is invested in the health and future of Baton Rouge and Lake Charles.
