Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health, Louisiana Public Broadcasting Partner on Health andWellbeing Initiative Serving Louisiana for more than 95 years, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health has partnered with Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) on an initiative to help raise a healthier generation. The initiative, called One To Grow On, provides par- ents around Louisiana with access to information and quick tips to help them understand general health, healthy eating habits, prenatal care, and child safety tips, among other things. “We all have a hand in the future of Louisiana’s children. Through this partnership with LPB, we hope to connect with more families in providing tips and education on how to raise a healthier generation,” said Trey Dunbar, MD, president of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health. One To Grow On includes videos for broadcast and digital viewing, as well as a dedicated web- site onetogrowon.org , featuring links to reputable resources helpful to parents, expectant parents, grandparents, teachers, and neighbors – anyone who cares about the future of Louisiana’s children. “These tips are designed to be quick and simple – easy to digest one-minute videos with impor- tant parenting information. Sandra Leblanc JoinsWoman’s as Director of Accounting Sandra Leblanc, CPA, recently joined Woman’s Hospital as director of accounting. In addition to providing direction and oversight to the account- ing department, Leblanc is responsible for general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, cost accounting, budgeting, reporting, and audits. She has nearly 30 years of experience in accounting with more than 25 years in leadership roles. Most recently, she served as order to cash manager at Commu- nity Coffee since 2013. Leblanc holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting and an MBA from University of Louisiana Lafayette. Our Lady of the Lake Announces NewChief of Staff Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center announced the election of Craig Greene, MD, MBA, as its 2021 chief of staff. Greene joins Cath- erine O’Neal, MD, Our Lady of the Lake chief medical officer, and Philip Allen, MD, associate chief medical officer as a physician leader for the organization. Greene will serve as an advocate for the medical staff and provide guidance to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care each day. “Our chief of staff plays an important leader- ship role for our organization and our nearly 1,800 medical staff. I look forward to working closely with Dr. Greene on improvements that are important to our providers and our patients,” said O’Neal. In addition to participating on the Our Lady of the Lake Board of Directors, Greene will lead the Medical Executive Committee. The Medical Exec- utive Committee uses input from the medical staff to make key leadership decisions related to med- ical staff policies, procedures and rules, with an emphasis on clinical care and quality improve- ment initiatives. Green is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic and has been an active member of the Our Lady of the Lake medical staff for years. He received a medi- cal degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, and went on to complete a residency at Texas A&M Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Scott and White Hos- pital in Temple, Texas, followed by a fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology and complex fracture care at Harborview Trauma Center, University of Washington in Seattle. Greene also earned a Mas- ter of Business Administration from Yale University, where he graduated with honors. He serves as a commander in the United States Navy Reserves. Greene also serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN) with the responsibility of supporting and sustaining a statewide system of care coordination for patients suddenly stricken by serious traumatic injury or time-sensitive illness. Research Partnership to Focus on Advances in the Management of Glioblastoma Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and The Neu- roMedical Center are advancing its longstanding partnership by entering into a research agree- ment, beginning with the launch of a clinical trial, sponsored by Novocure called TRIDENT, for newly diagnosed glioblastoma (GBM) patients. GBM is the most aggressive type of cancer that begins in the brain with approximately 12,000 cases diag- nosed in the United States each year.
