Ochsner Community Health – Brees Family Center Holds Grand Opening Ochsner Baton Rouge, in conjunction with East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and the Brees Dream Foundation, held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of Ochsner Community Health - Brees Family Cen- ter at 7855 Howell Blvd, Suite 320. Located in North Baton Rouge, the community health center is designed to deliver primary care, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, and smoking cessation services to underserved communities with the goal of promoting health equity for all. Ochsner Health has committed more than $10 million to open and operate 15 community health centers across the state, alongside a $5 million gift announced last summer from Brittany and Drew Brees’ Brees Dream Foundation. Funds from the Brees Dream Foundation will support startup and operational costs for these facilities. “Our goal is to work in collaboration, not com- petition, with other community partners to pro- vide greater access to care,” stated Kevin Green, Ochsner vice president of clinic operations for Community Health Centers. “Meeting patients where they are to help proactively manage any chronic diseases will help us improve overall health and well-being.” The newly renovated suite within the New Era Medical Complex has approximately 5,100 square feet and features 10 exam rooms. Onsite services include a lab draw area and x-ray capabilities. Pro- viders at the center include the primary care team of Edith Mbagwu, MD, and Coleatha Fowler, NP; pediatrician Durga Alahari, MD; and women’s ser- vices provider Molly McRae, FNP-BC, MSN. Parking is available in a surface lot in front of the building, which is located a short walk from the Route 54 bus stop on Harding Blvd. The Ochsner Community Health - Brees Fam- ily Center will bring approximately 19 new jobs to North Baton Rouge in the coming months. The center is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Radiology Associates Hires Director of Operations Mark P. Callais, Jr. Radiology Associates announced the hiring of Mark P. Callais, Jr. as director of operations. Callais brings comprehensive experience in the healthcare industry, ranging from financial analysis and data analytics to strategic planning. “I am delighted to announce that Mark P. Cal- lais, Jr., has joined Radiology Associates as our director of operations,” says Scott B. Schuber, MD, Radiology Associates’ managing partner. “Mark has a wealth of experience in the health- care sector, most notably in data analytics and revenue cycle management which were two areas of need for our growing practice. I look forward to working closely with him as we seek to find bet- ter ways to serve our patients and community.” Callais earned both a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an MBA from Nicholls State Uni- versity. He is a member of Radiology Business Management Association. She is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Woman’s physician practices and the contin- ued advancement of clinical services. Buchanan, a Baton Rouge native who was born at Woman’s Hospital, comes to Woman’s from MedStar Health in Washington, D.C., where she served as senior director of Women’s and Infants’ Services. Her experience is primarily in leading clinical operations and strategy for sub-specialties in health systems across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. “I am thrilled to be returning to the place I call home to care for a community that helped shape me personally and professionally,” said Buchanan. “Woman’s has such a tremendous reputation as a strong, independent hospital focused on women and infants, and I’m excited to be part of future growth and strategic initiatives.” “Eboni clearly has a great deal of experience in leading programs focused on women’s and infant health, but it’s her passion for improving the health of our community that has me truly excited to have her join our team,” said Barbara Griffith, MD, president and CEO of Woman’s Hos- pital. “Woman’s has exciting future plans, and I look forward to Eboni leading the charge.” Buchanan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Orleans and her Master of Health Services Administration from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michi- gan.
