DIALOGUE 8 JUL / AUG 2021 I  HEALTHCARE JOURNAL OF BATON ROUGE JONAS FONTENOT, PhD, MS Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Physics Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center ONE ON ONE After completing the PhD inMedical Physics programat MDAnderson Cancer Center in 2008, Jonas Fontenot, PhD, MS, continued his research through partnership with LSUwhile working in support of Mary Bird Perkins’ radiation oncology program. He took on his current role of chief of physics at MBP in 2015 and added to his responsibilities as chief operating officer in 2017. In addition, he continues to teach the next generation of cancer leaders through theMBP-LSU Medical Physics Partnership, reviews applications for the National Institute of Health Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs, and is active on two professional economic councils that review and adviseMedicare on healthcare policy.
