Our Lady of the Lake team members reflected on what it was like to be impacted by a natural disaster with the 2016 flood and stepped up to help their fellow health- care workers in the time of need. Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital, Baton Rouge General Named State’s Top Physical Rehabilitation Centers Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital (BRRH) and Baton Rouge General (BRG) have been named in the No. 1 and No. 3 spot in Louisiana, respectively, in Newsweek’s “Best Physical Rehabilitation Cen- ters.” Rehabilitation facilities are ranked based on quality of care, service, and follow-up care, as well as accommodations and amenities. “It is an honor to see our system’s rehabilitation facilities be recognized for the amazing work we do improving the quality of life for the people of our community,” said Trisha Guidry, acting chief operating officer at BRGMid City and service line administrator over physical medicine and rehabili- tation. “Both facilities pride themselves on provid- ing quality and compassionate care.” In addition to its inpatient rehabilitation unit, the Mid City campus also houses BRG’s skilled nursing facility, which was named a “Best Nursing Home” by U.S. News &World Report for its high-perform- ing rating in short-term rehabilitation. BRRH, a joint venture within the BRG system, is an 86,000-square-foot freestanding facility offers both inpatient and outpatient care. BRRH special- izes in neurological and orthopedic-based treat- ments and services for patients who have suffered strokes, amputations, spinal injuries, and neuro- logical disorders. Ochsner Baton Rouge Expands Ochsner Health Center-Prairieville Ochsner Baton Rouge recently celebrated the expansion of Ochsner Health Center - Prairieville. This health center now features more than 24,250 square feet with 43 exam rooms and seven treatment rooms. In addition to primary care and pediatrics, the health center now offers many Och- sner specialists as well as cardiac testing, a pul- monary function lab, MRI, ultrasound, and mam- mography services. Additional specialists in audiology, cardiology, dermatology, ENT, gastroenterology, hematol- ogy/oncology, nephrology, obstetrics/gynecol- ogy, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, pul- monology, radiology, rheumatology, and speech therapy will see patients at the center. Woman’s Receives Patients from Lake Charles Area Hospitals Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge received patient transports from two Lake Charles Area Hospitals in the wake of Hurricane Laura. Woman’s Hospital is the largest birthing hos- pital in Louisiana and has a Level III S Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The State of Louisi- ana also has designated Woman’s as the official coordinating organization to manage the evacu- ation of babies and high-risk pregnant women.
