HEALTHCARE JOURNAL OF BATON ROUGE I  NOV / DEC 2020 19 ence in the Baton Rouge area. We have ex- perienced more than 100 percent volume growth over the past decade and have ex- panded from 10 radiologists in 2010 to 24 radiologists today. Our former CEO, Tim Barrett, was instrumental in the success of the practice during his 10 years of service. Additionally, we have a great recruiting pool where physicians completing radiology res- idencies or fellowships are reaching out to join our growing practice. I amexcited about the future of RadiologyAssociates. What do you see as the future of the imaging field? Molecular imaging, genomics and arti- ficial intelligence are growing areas of ra- diology. Molecular imaging allows biological processes within the body to be viewed at a cellular and molecular level. These tech- niques allow doctors to detect diseases at the earliest stages and can be used to diag- nose and manage many different diseases and conditions. Genomics is the study of the body’s genes, their functions and their influence on the growth, development and working of the body. These new forms of diagnostics will revolutionize healthcare, allowing doctors to predict and more accu- rately diagnosis disease. Artificial intelligence (AI) will also have an important role to play in the future of ra- diology. AI will become part of radiologists’ daily practices, helping clinicians improve efficiency and diagnostic capacity. AI has the potential to sift through a huge quantity of imaging data in seconds, assisting radiolo- gists by helping to prioritize worklists and diagnoses. As you came into the practice in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine, what have you learned in the process? I was excited to be selected as the new CEO, and thenCOVIDhit. As always, I rely on mymilitary training to assess a situation and move forward. Change is constant in health- care. We improvise, adapt and overcome. It makes us stronger both professionally and personally. I am looking forward to 2021 and beyond as Radiology Associates continues to provide excellent radiologic care to the greater Baton Rouge area. n
