The Leapfrog Top Hospital award is widely acknowledged as one of the most com- petitive honors American hospitals can receive. The Top Hospital designation is awarded by The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog organiza- tion of employers and other purchasers focused on healthcare safety and quality. Our Lady of the Lake Ascension was the only hospital in Louisiana to receive the award. “We are honored to receive this national rec- ognition as a Top Hospital,” said K. We congratulate the board, staff, and clinicians whose efforts made this honor possible and know they share pride in this achievement.” Lowell Stanton is Our Lady of the Lake CFO Lowell Stanton has joined Our Lady of the Lake as chief financial officer where he is responsible for ensuring a sustainable, healthy financial foun- dation for Our Lady of the Lake and its affiliate organizations. “Lowell’s finance, strategic planning and opera- tional business acumen is a great addition to our team,” said Scott Wester, president and CEO of Our Lady of the Lake. “His wealth of experience in the healthcare industry is an asset to our ministry.” Stanton steps into the role previously held by Jeff Limbocker, who now serves as CFO for the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. Lowell joins Our Lady of the Lake with more than 23 years of experience in finance and healthcare. He most recently served as a Regional CFO at Houston Methodist where he was responsible for overseeing three hospitals in the south region of Houston that represented over $1 billion of net revenue, more than 700 beds, and 4,000 FTEs. Throughout his career, his operational responsi- bilities included physical therapy, radiation ther- apy, food and environmental services, medical records, supply chain, and IT. Additionally, he provided leadership for several key service lines including oncology, orthopedics, and urology and was responsible for the growth of several ambula- tory physician practices. A native of Texas, Stanton received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Texas A&M University. He was active in the Houston community through several boards and was named the 2007 “CFO of the Year” by the Houston Business Journal. Baton Rouge General Announces NewBoard of Trustees Members Baton Rouge General (BRG) announced five new members of its board of trustees, each elected to serve a three-year term. They include Annette Barton, Rhoman Hardy, Ryland Percy, Christopher Tyson, and Raju Vatsavai, MD. Annette Barton recently served as co-chair of the Baton Rouge General Foundation’s successful RISE Campaign and is also chair of the Founda- tion’s Annual Fund. In addition to her involvement with the Foundation, Barton is on the board for various community organizations, including Baton Rouge Area Foundation, Baton Rouge Green, Burden Foundation, and Pennington Biomedi- cal Research Foundation. Born in Baton Rouge, Barton earned a bachelor’s degree from the Uni- versity of Oklahoma and worked for Chase Bank for many years. Rhoman Hardy is vice president for Shell’s Gulf Coast and Pennsylvania manufacturing locations and general manager of Shell’s site in Geismar. He began working for Shell in 1988 while studying electrical engineering at Louisiana State University and has worked in various positions in Shell’s man- ufacturing business as well as the company’s dis- tribution and pipeline business. Hardy, who also holds an executive MBA from Rice University, is on the board of the Louisiana Chemical Associ- ation, Shell Pension Trust, Arts Council of Baton Rouge, and Baton Rouge Area Chamber.
