They are: • Dr. Leonardo Seoane, chief academic officer and senior vice-president • Shelly Monks, system vice president, academic affairs • Dr. Susan Nelson, system chair of palliative medicine • Dr. Ronald Amadee, dean of medical education • John Sawyer II, co-director, Cognitive Disorders & Brain Health Program • Matt Estrade, Office of Grants Development Laurie Schulenberg Named Vice President, Patient Care Services at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital announced that Laurie Schulenberg, MPA/HCA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, has joined the ministry as vice president of patient care services.  In her new role, Schulenberg will direct nursing staff and practices and oversee clinical operations within the children’s hospital that is set to open on October 5, 2019.  “We are thrilled to welcome Laurie to our grow- ing team,” said Trey Dunbar, MD, president of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health. “Her breadth of experience in pediatrics and nursing leadership will be an incredible asset as we open our new children’s hospital in less than 90 days.”  With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Schulenberg most recently served as the direc- tor of educational services at Woman’s Hospital, where she provided oversight of training and edu- cation for more than 2,500 employees and medi- cal staff. Prior to that, Schulenberg was chief nurs- ing officer at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Tex. She started her career as a pediatric intensive care and sedation nurse at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rap- ids, Mich.  “I am excited to begin this new journey at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital,” Schulen- berg said. “It’s humbling to join this amazing team and work together to create a healthier Louisi- ana for generations to come, pursue innovative research projects, and establish new national best practices.”  Schulenberg graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Master of Public Administration and Executive Healthcare Administration. Woman’s Hospital Promotes AngelaMusso to Clinic NurseManager Woman’s Hospital has promoted Angela Musso, BSN, RNC-OB, to clinic nurse manager oversee- ing GYN oncology, general surgery, and mater- nal fetal medicine clinics. In this new role, she will work closely with other hospital clinics to coor- dinate processes to ensure high quality care for patients. “Angela beings many of years of experience in both labor and delivery and clinic practice man- agement that make her an exceptional fit for this role,” said Dore Binder, chief medical officer of Woman’s Hospital. “We look forward to seeing her excel in this new role as she has done for the last two decades here at Woman’s.” Angela joined the Woman’s team more than 18 years ago. She started as a charge nurse/staff nurse in labor and delivery and most recently served in the role of clinical educator for physi- cian practice management. Prior to her time at Woman’s, Angela worked in labor and delivery at Earl K. Long Medical Center. Suchit Patel, MD, PhD, Joins Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center announced the addition of radiation oncologist Suchit H. Patel, MD, PhD,to its medical staff. Patel is practicing at Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Can- cer Center in Baton Rouge, and Mary Bird Per- kins Cancer Center’s Hammond and Covington locations. Patel is a summa cum laude graduate of New York Institute of Technology. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from The Rockefel- ler University and a Doctor of Medicine, with hon- ors in service, fromWeill Cornell Medical College in New York. He completed his radiation oncology residency training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he served as chief resident. Patel was awarded the Mortimer J. Lacher Fellowship in radiation oncology, and com- pleted his postdoctoral research. He has authored a number of publications, delivered presentations at oncology conferences, and holds several active grants. “We are thrilled and honored that Dr. Patel is joining our oncology team,” said Charles G.
