The commencement address was delivered by Sandy Miller’s husband, Dr. J.P. Miller, who is a radiologist with North Oaks Imaging Associates. Before the presentation of diplomas by Pro- gram Director Marsha J. Talbert, outstanding achievement awards were given. The Academic Achievement Award was presented to Worth for obtaining the highest overall scholastic average, and the Performance and Attitude Award for exceptional performance in the clinical setting was given to Foster. Dr. Rodney Taylor presented the Dannye Young Taylor Always Remembering Others Award, named in honor of his wife, to Miley in recognition of her outstanding patient care skills. Six Organizations Receive Grant Funding for Food Insecurity Projects Louisiana Healthcare Connections has announced the award of $90,000 in grant funds to six healthcare and community organizations in support of community-level projects focused on reducing food insecurity and hunger in Louisiana. Award recipients include: - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Beta Omega Chapter – GNO-ABO Charitable & Educational Foundation, Inc., in New Orleans, La., for The Pantry Payback, to address food insecurity among college and university stu- dents in New Orleans. - HOPE Ministries, in Baton Rouge, La., for Fixer Upper – The Pantry Edition, to expand pantry space for streamlined services for the Client Choice Food Pantry. - It Takes a Village BR, in Baton Rouge, La., for Love Out Loud Sundays, a meals and food pan- try program for disadvantaged individuals and families in Greater Baton Rouge. - LTP Medical Mobile, Inc., in Ruston, La., for The Health Hut, a program to improve access to healthy foods and nutritional awareness through dietetic support and budget-friendly nutritional education. - Second Harvest Food Bank, in New Orleans, La., for Feeding Hope, a collaborative partner- ship with AcadianaCares to support a food pan- try for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, home- lessness, poverty and/or substance abuse in Greater New Orleans. - Therapeutic Counseling Clinic, Inc., in Bogalusa, North Oaks Radiologic Graduates Members of the 50th graduating class of the North Oaks School of Radiologic Technology are, seated from left, London Raborn, Meghan Matherne, Brianna Foster, Jennifer Gresse, Kristin Smith, Taylor Miley, and standing from left, Madeleine Duhon, Meggy Worth, Stuart Tournillon, Josh Maggio and Ashley Perrault.
