Kirkpatrick is an attorney at Roedel Parson's Baton Rouge office, where he is a lobbyist on state issues. Among other clients, Kirkpatrick rep- resents the Association of Levee Boards of Lou- isiana, American Traffic Solutions, and Louisiana Notary Association. Kirkpatrick received a B.A. in Government and Religious Studies from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from Louisiana State University. The BRG Foundation also announced Laura Parr and Jim Purgerson, Jr. are new members of the board of governors. Both members were elected to serve a three-year term, which began January 1. Parr is the incoming president of the BRG Aux- iliary Board. In addition to her involvement with BRG Auxiliary/Volunteer Services, she volunteers for various community organizations including the LSU Greater Baton Rouge Alumni Association, LSU Campus Club, and Newcomer/Encore Club of Baton Rouge. After graduating with a B.S. in Medical Record Science from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Parr worked as direc- tor of medical records at hospitals in Louisiana and beyond. Purgerson is senior vice president and senior lending officer of Citizens Bank & Trust Company. He serves on the bank’s board of directors and holds the Certified Commercial Investment Mem- ber designation conferred by the CCIM Institute of the National Association of REALTORS®. Purg- erson serves on the board of directors of Coastal Conservation Association, Louisiana and the Loui- siana Real Estate Appraisers Board, while also act- ing as president of the Mystic Krewe of Achilles of Baton Rouge, and chair of the Parish Finance Council of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Breaks Ground on NewWestside Clinic Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group broke ground on a new 11,500 square foot westside clinic, set to open in the fall of 2019. “This new clinic will allow us to increase access and scope of care for residents in West Baton Rouge,” said Dr. Richard Vath, chief clinical trans- formation officer for the Franciscan Missionar- ies of Our Lady Health System. “We are excited about bringing more providers, specialties, and extended hours to the community, closer to home.” The new Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Westside clinic, located at 4353 LA Highway 1 South in Port Allen, will house primary care pro- viders, while the original westside clinic located at 402 N. Vaughn St. in Brusly, will focus on pedi- atric and specialty care. The new clinic is expected to see more than 140 patients per day. Woman’s Center for Wellness, Director Receive Certifications from the Medical Fitness Association Woman’s Center for Wellness—a Woman’s Hos- pital facility that offers exercise, therapy, nutrition, and spa services—has received facility certifica- tion from the Medical Fitness Association (MFA). The certification recognizes facilities that feature the professional expertise and programming nec- essary to safely and effectively provide medical exercise and promote health and wellness. Wom- an’s Center for Wellness is currently the only MFA- designated facility in Louisiana. Medical exercise programs are a safe, effective option for individuals who are recovering from injuries; who have been recently discharged from physical therapy; who have chronic diseases/ health conditions; or who require more instruc- tion and supervision than provided in a traditional fitness setting.
