You are driving to work consumed with the argument you had with your partner last night, the little league game you will miss to- day, and your mother’s sixty-seven calls this week. The day doesn’t really get started until a revenue cycle manager announces that reimbursement is a little off, and cash flow is a little tighter than usual. And now? Now, you get to the real work of the day, complete with reams of unnecessary paperwork, and probably some regulatory hurdles that are as nonsensical as they are onerous. Not to mention the panoply of decisions that, at the end of the day, you feel wholly unqualified and unprepared to make. You are exasper- ated, weary, and discouraged.
