Free Cancer Screening Event, Live Well Northshore, Returns to Covington

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Live Well community health event is set to return to Covington this month. Live Well Northshore, a free cancer screening opportunity, will be held on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire Street. This event provides residents with an opportunity to take advantage of four different types of cancer screenings, including breast, prostate, colorectal, and skin cancer. Participants can also access blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose checks.

Beyond these cancer screenings and health services, there will be food, music, and activities for the entire family.

Appointments are encouraged for all screenings. If an abnormality is found, a nurse navigator will assist screening participants with next steps, also at no cost. To make a screening appointment, call (985) 287-5775 or visit pogo.marybird.com to schedule an appointment.
