Healthy State Summit Announces Keynote Speakers, Agenda Highlights

Healthy State has announced the keynote speakers for the inaugural Healthy State Summit, set for Oct. 24 at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. The event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including Louisiana Surgeon General Ralph Abraham, MD, and Ochsner Health CEO Pete November. They will discuss the current state of Louisiana’s health and outline the Louisiana Department of Health’s vision and priorities for the future.

The theme of the summit, “Know It. Own It. Live It: Working Together to Create a Thriving Louisiana,” underscores the need for collective action to enhance community health. Sessions will include “How Workforce and Economic Development Impact Health Outcomes,” a discussion featuring Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan Bonnet Bourgeois, Louisiana Workforce Commission Secretary Susana Schowen, and Stephen Moret, president and CEO of Strada Education Foundation and former president of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber. Another notable session, “Courage and Leadership to Drive Change,” will focus on of public-private partnerships in addressing social determinants of health. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in “Communities in Action” breakout sessions and networking designed to inspire collaboration and innovative thinking.

The summit will showcase the contributions of leading organizations and highlight partnerships that are driving positive change.
