Louisiana Healthcare Connections Hosts Holiday Health Care-a-Van

Louisiana Healthcare Connections, a Medicaid health plan serving Louisiana Department of Health and wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, is partnering with the Alexandria Housing Authority to host a Holiday Health Care-a-Van on Dec. 9 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Charles Hayward Activity Center (2586 Loblolly Ln. Alexandria, La, 71303). In addition to providing a holiday experience for the community, a group of mobile health units, healthcare providers, and community partners will be providing screenings, vaccinations, and other resources for free.

Activities will include face painting, giveaways, and a meal, along with health screenings such as blood pressure and glucose, diabetic eye exams, vaccinations for flu and COVID-19, as well as information on topics such as mental health, maternal health, hepatitis, domestic violence, childcare assistance, workforce development, Medicaid, and even assistance with WIC/SNAP applications!

“At Louisiana Healthcare Connections, we recognize the significant issues facing Central Louisiana pertaining to access to care, food insecurities, and other social determinants of health,” said Tanzel Montgomery, community relations manager with Louisiana Healthcare Connections. “So, we are pleased to bring all of these partners together for a fun, healthy, and helpful day, to further our mission to transform Louisiana’s health, one person at a time.”

The public is invited to attend, free of charge. Register online at LHCC.regfox.com/Holiday-Health-Care-a-Van.
