Children’s Hospital NO’s Specialty Clinic Welcomes Jessica Hoffmann Picone, PhD

Jessica Hoffmann Picone, PhD, joined the Baton Rouge specialty care team for Children’s Hospital New Orleans and will now treat outpatient pediatric psychotherapy patients, patients with comorbid medical diagnoses, and patients with psychiatric diagnoses. Treatments are provided for patients dealing with anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, trauma-related distress, obsessive compulsive disorder, and behavioral concerns.

In addition, Hoffmann Picone continues to participate in a multidisciplinary clinic with the Children’s Hospital New Orleans gastroenterology department to offer comprehensive intervention services to children experiencing a wide range of GI symptoms and disorders such as constipation, pain, nausea, vomiting, and chronic GI illnesses.

As a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT), Hoffmann Picone offers a virtual clinic for toddlers and preschoolers with challenging behaviors. This clinic targets common behavioral concerns for children between the ages of two and seven years old who exhibit noncompliance, defiance, challenges with inattention, as well as anxiety and trauma-related distress. In addition, there will also be an option for intervention services for children with acute and chronic medical conditions who are also experiencing emotional/behavioral challenges like adjustment issues or adherence to medical regimens. Hoffman Picone joined the Department of Psychology at Children’s Hospital New Orleans as a full-time pediatric psychologist at the Baton Rouge Specialty Clinic in September 2021. Originally from Slidell, La., Hoffmann completed graduate training at Texas Tech University followed by an internship at the University of Florida Health Science Center. Hoffmann then completed a pediatric psychology fellowship at Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
