Woman's Hospital Honored by Press Ganey for Patient Experience

Woman’s has been recognized by Press Ganey as one of the nation’s leaders in providing exceptional patient experience for both inpatient care and outpatient surgery. This is the seventh straight year that Woman’s has earned the Guardian of Excellence Award for being in the top five percent in the country in outstanding inpatient experience and the first time for ambulatory (outpatient) surgery.

“Given the strict visitation restrictions that came with COVID-19, our team members stepped in to provide the presence and emotional support that is traditionally offered by the loved ones and friends who were unable to visit some of the sickest patients in our hospital,” said Cheri Johnson, Woman’s Hospital chief nursing officer. “They held hands and wiped tears, they sat at bedsides, and they provided much needed social interaction, laughter, and emotional support.”

Press Ganey, a leading provider of patient experience measurement and performance analytics for healthcare organizations, gives this award annually to the top organizations who have achieved the 95th percentile or higher for any of a set of designated survey measures, including likelihood to recommend, overall rating, and/or teamwork.
