Woman’s, Southern University’s Human Jukebox, Fabulous Dancing Dolls Announce Partnership

Woman’s Hospital announced their partnership with Southern University’s Human Jukebox Marching Band and Fabulous Dancing Dolls at a celebration event held at the hospital. Patients and employees enjoyed performances by the band and dance troupe, and dignitaries from Southern University toured Woman’s Cancer Pavilion and Mother/Baby Unit.

“Southern University is such an important part of our community and the Woman’s family, so we’re especially proud to announce our partnership with the Fabulous Dancing Dolls and The Human Jukebox. These band members are not just entertainers, they are students, scholars, and our future leaders. Their star power will champion women’s health across our community and state,” said Woman’s Hospital President and CEO Rene Ragas.

The Fabulous Dancing Dolls and Human Jukebox will raise awareness of Woman’s Make Your Health a Priority campaign, promoting the importance of regular breast and gynecologic health screenings through the Woman’s Health Challenge social media campaign and on-campus events. In addition, Woman’s will be recognized with an interactive gameday experience and halftime show presentation at the Southern versus Florida A&M University football game on Oct. 7.

“We are honored to partner with Woman’s Hospital to advocate for the health and wellness of women in our great city. We hope this campaign will also spark attention around the globe. We trust that our performances will help increase awareness to this effort,” stated Dr. Kedric Taylor, director of bands for The Human Jukebox.

During the Spring 2024 semester, the university will host an on-campus enrichment summit where Woman’s panel of experts will educate students on a host of topics including how to prevent, detect, and address breast and gynecologic health issues through self-examinations and regular screenings.
