Woman’s Hospital has welcomed the newest class of the LSU Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. The program, a partnership between Woman’s Hospital and Louisiana State University School of Medicine since 2011, is dedicated to preparing OB/GYN physicians through advanced clinical training, patient care, practice-based learning, and medical education.
The four-year residency program accepts four residents each year. Throughout their training, residents gain comprehensive experience through specialized rotations in maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, and urogynecology. They also provide care through the LSU OB/GYN Clinic, a public-private partnership between Woman’s Hospital, LSU, and the Louisiana Department of Health.
"We are thrilled to welcome our new residents as they begin their journey to becoming exceptional obstetrician-gynecologists. The continued growth of this program is a testament to the strength of the partnership between Woman’s Hospital and the LSU Health Baton Rouge Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program," said Cliff Moore, MD, Woman’s senior vice president for academic affairs. "This collaboration provides tremendous value to our residents, faculty and most importantly, the women and families we serve. Together, we are preparing the next generation of excellent physicians through innovative education, outstanding clinical experiences and a vision of excellence in women’s healthcare."
The new residents officially began their training on July 1 and are expected to complete the program in June 2030.
