On Jan. 10, Woman's Hospital hosted a press conference with U.S. Representative Julia Letlow to announce the launch of their Newborn Essential Support Toolkits. Woman’s is now the sixth recipient in Louisiana to distribute the kits which are supplied through a public-private partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Baby2Baby, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides families across the country with diapers, clothing, and other basic necessities.
Following a private tour of the facility, Rep. Letlow joined Woman's Hospital CEO Rene Ragas and Louisiana State Senator Regina Barrow to speak on the importance of perinatal mental health and Congresswoman Letlow's NEST Act. The NEST Act seeks to expand the distribution of newborn supply kits made up of essential goods critical to new mothers and their infants.
