Tina Williams, chief health equity and belonging officer of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, is serving as the 2027 chair for the Capital Area Go Red for Women® movement. Go Red for Women is dedicated to helping women lead healthier lives.
The Red Means Go message encourages women to move beyond awareness and take action, whether that means learning their risk factors, scheduling preventive screenings, making heart-healthy lifestyle changes or seeking medical care when needed.
“I am honored to serve as the chair of the Go Red for Women Campaign in Baton Rouge,” said Tina Williams. “This work is deeply personal to me. With a generational predisposition to heart disease and the loss of my mother to a heart attack at an early age, I understand firsthand the urgent need to increase awareness, support research, and advance cardiovascular health for women and families across our community.”
Despite the threat of CVD, less than half of women are aware of its risk[2]. Go Red for Women is committed to closing gaps in access to care and championing a community of support. By bringing together survivors, advocates, and community leaders, the movement empowers women to prioritize their heart health at every age and stage of life while helping create healthier futures for generations to come.
