Our Lady of the Lake Nurses Honored as Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana

Registered nurses from Our Lady of the Lake were recognized by the Great 100 Nurses Foundation at their annual Great 100 Nurses Celebration of Louisiana held on Oct. 23. The Great 100 Nurses Foundation honors nurses who have shown concern for humanity, made a significant contribution to the profession, and have served as a mentor or role model for others.

“It is a great honor to have so many of our wonderful nurses recognized for their dedication to the nursing profession,” said Nicole Telhiard, chief nursing officer at Our Lady of the Lake. “Our nurses show how compassion along with expertise and interprofessional collaboration allow us to deliver on our promise of clinical excellence and patient safety for all of those we are privileged to serve.”

Recognized as a Great 100 Nurse honoree from Our Lady of the Lake are:

-Lawrence Christy II, RN, CCRN, Medical Intensive Care Unit

-Iesha Bethley, MSN, RN, CMSRN, Neurology

-Sybil Byrd, BSN, RN, Pediatrics

-Kristine Hall, BSN, RN, CNRN, Clinical Education

-Maurice Harris, MSN, RN, Nursing Support Services

-Nikki Honore, RN, Pediatrics

-Latona Lenard, BSN, CMSRN, Medicine

-Tracie Major, DNP, APRN-CNS, CPN, Nursing Administration

-Sophia Solomon, MSN, RN, Post Surgical Support Services

-Ryan Valentine, BSN, RN, CCRN, Nursing Administration

-John Wilson, BSN, RN, Universal Unit

Also recognized at the event was Brenda Brown, RN, with St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe which is also part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.

This recognition comes just weeks after Our Lady of the Lake was recognized for a third-time by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a magnet-recognized organization. The Magnet Recognition Program designates organizations worldwide where nursing leaders successfully align their nursing strategic goals to improve and provide the best patient care and outcomes available.

Our Lady of the Lake is a Level II Designated Trauma Center that houses a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence, a nationally recognized graduate medical education program, Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center, an accredited Heart & Vascular Institute, and a state-of-the-art Neuro Critical Care unit.
