Ochsner Welcomes Three New Providers

Ochsner Baton Rouge welcomes three new providers to the region.

Samita Das, MD, specializes in pain management and back and spine care at Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove, Ochsner Health Center – O’Neal, and Ochsner Health Center – Prairieville. After studying at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Das earned a medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed a residency in anesthesiology at Ochsner Medical Center and an interventional pain fellowship at Case Western/University Hospital System in Cleveland. She also earned an MBA and a master’s degree in pharmacology from Tulane.

Courtney Gunn, PhD, specializes in psychological assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults, including psychoeducational evaluations. She sees patients on the third floor of Ochsner Cancer Center – Baton Rouge. After earning degrees from Xavier University in New Orleans and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, she earned a doctorate in psychology from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Gunn completed an internship in clinical psychology at San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health in California, along with postdoctoral training at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson.

Duncan Hanby, MD, is an ear, nose, and throat specialist (otolaryngologist) who sees patients at Ochsner Health Center – O’Neal and at Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove. He earned a medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock. Hanby also completed a research rotation at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, as well as an internship and residency at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.
