Ochsner Offers Children’s COVID-19 Vaccines Jan. 29

Ochsner Baton Rouge is partnering with Elm Grove Baptist Church and The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice for a PCR testing and pediatric vaccine drive from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Jan. 29.

The event, which takes place at the church located at 1069 N. 38th St., is for children ages 5-11 receiving either their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Children who receive their first vaccine dose at this event are eligible for $50 gift cards. Those who receive second doses at this event are eligible for $25 gift cards. The cards are available through funding provided by the Power Coalition.

Walk-ins are accepted, but all children must be registered before receiving vaccines. Registration is available at the event, though it could result in longer wait times. Parents are strongly encouraged to pre-register their children. Pre-registration is available at (844) 888-2772 or through the MyOchsner app.

Children receiving their second vaccine dose should bring their COVID-19 vaccination card.

In addition, walk-up PCR testing for COVID-19 will be available at the event for both children and adults. PCR test results take about 72 hours. Rapid testing is not available at this event.

To make a vaccine appointment, call (844) 888-2772, or use the MyOchsner app to find the nearest vaccine location. Locations are also posted weekly on Ochsner’s Facebook page.
