Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center Gala is Sept. 28

Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center (MBPTGMCCC) announces that their annual cancer gala, Ladies Night Out, will be held on Sept. 28 at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. The event raises valuable funds and awareness to support cancer patients in the community.

“We are thrilled to once again celebrate the tremendous community support of our patients and the Cancer Center with an unforgettable evening,” said Melanie Guilbeaux, MBPTGMCCC Director.  “Over the past 11 years, we have raised over $650,000 for our patients receiving treatment, right here at home. We are proud to be able to offer world class services to our community, so that each patient can continue to live life to its fullest.”

This year’s event will feature 20 cancer survivors who have received treatment at MBPTGMCCC, including 14 women and six men. “We encourage our community to join us as we cheer on these brave men and women walking the runway,” said Guilbeaux. “Our goal is to empower survivors by making them the focus of this event, as we raise funds to support patients in the fight against cancer.”

Proceeds from Ladies Night Out will help take the fight forward by removing barriers to care, such as providing transportation assistance for those needing  help getting to their treatments, and helping to provide free community cancer screenings for those who cannot afford them.
