Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health has announced Kristen Pontiff, MD, FAAP, as the medical director of the pediatric emergency department at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.
“Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health is committed to delivering exceptional and specialized care for pediatric patients and their families,” said Jonathan Brouk, president of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health. “Dr. Pontiff brings not only a wealth of knowledge and expertise in emergency services and a commitment to patient safety, but a passion for compassionately serving the most vulnerable patients in our community.”
Pontiff is board-certified in pediatric emergency medicine, general pediatrics. She received a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies, and completed a pediatric residency at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in 2016.
Pontiff served as an assistant professor of pediatrics in emergency medicine at both Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., before returning to Baton Rouge.
