John Dunbar Honored as Acadian Ambulance Capital Region EMT of the Year

Youngsville, La., native John Dunbar was selected as the Acadian Ambulance Capital District regional EMT of the Year, and was a finalist for the overall Louisiana/Mississippi honor. The region spans West and East Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee, Iberville, East Feliciana, Ascension, and Livingston parishes. Dunbar is a graduate of Lafayette High School and Louisiana State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He earned his EMT certification from the LSU Fire & Emergency Training Institute before joining Acadian.

Dunbar works in Livingston Parish, and is currently enrolled in the National EMS Academy paramedic program. He aspires to become a physician’s assistant.

Paramedic Field Supervisor Drew King said, “John is a shining example of what I want new employees to strive for. His compassion for his patients and his fellow medics is extraordinary. John’s calming nature is a necessity in a field of chaos, and in addition, he is an excellent clinician.”
