Baton Rouge General (BRG) has opened its fourth Express Care clinic, located steps from Tiger Stadium in LSU’s Nicholson Gateway development.
Express Care is open seven days a week and treats serious, but non-life threatening illnesses and injuries, including sprains, minor cuts and burns, allergic reactions, sinus infections, earaches, and fever. The clinic also features a lab, X-ray machine and an EKG for more serious injuries. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Nicholson Gateway location will also feature a hydration therapy lounge.
“Express Care is all about convenience and service,” said BRG CEO Edgardo Tenreiro. “No matter which of our four locations you visit, from the moment you schedule online or walk through the front door, we’re focused on getting you healthier as quickly as possible.”
Like BRG’s Express Care clinic on Highland, this location was designed to elevate the patient experience beginning the moment they walk in the door. Patients are greeted by staff and invited to check in at a digital kiosk, which also has the ability to scan insurance cards. And while the clinic is designed for walk-in patients, it also offers online scheduling for patients who may have a limited window of time to visit. In addition, providers use iPads instead of desktops, and each patient room features a TV screen, giving clinic staff the opportunity to view information such as x-rays with the patient. A modern look, free Wi-Fi, and a coffee bar add to the convenient and welcoming feel of the clinic.
The new Express Care clinic is located at 3604 Nicholson Dr., near the intersection of Nicholson Dr. and N. Stadium Dr. Express Care now has four locations – Nicholson Gateway, Highland Village, Bluebonnet, and Dutchtown Express Care in Ascension Parish.
