Woman’s Hospital Auxiliary Announces New Officers, Grant Recipients

The Woman’s Hospital Auxiliary recently held a luncheon at Beausoleil to install new officers, present the 2018 Healthcare Auxilian Awards, and recognize grant recipients. Auxiliary officers for 2018-2020 include Frankie Edwards, president; Nancy Hubiak, president-elect; Peggy Vernice, vice president/fundraising chair; Susan Bordelon, treasurer; Carol Smith, recording secretary; JoEllen Williams, corresponding secretary; and Judy Peterson and Scotti Vermaelen, board members-at-large.

Elizabeth Dimmick and Wanda Montgomery were recognized for volunteering at Woman’s since the hospital opened in 1968. Both were named Healthcare Auxilians of the Year.

The Auxiliary granted $10,000 to several departments at Woman’s, including $2,000 to Audiology to assist children needing hearing aids, $1,000 to the Adult Intensive Care Unit for early loss/miscarriage support kits and clothing, and $500 to the Newborn and Infant Intensive Care Unit for laundry supplies.
