Starmount Life Insurance Company, the dental and vision center of expertise for Unum (NYSE:UNM), has named Leston Welsh vice president of operations and Sanjeev Sah technology capability officer – two newly created positions for its Baton Rouge-based operations.
As the vice president of operations, Welsh is responsible for overseeing the administration of dental and vision benefits, as well as facilities management.
Since 2015, Welsh served as the vice president of operations and market development for Unum’s individual disability insurance business in Worcester, Mass. He is relocating to Baton Rouge, and brings with him more than 17 years of financial and voluntary benefits expertise.
Sah started his new Starmount role in late August. He has 20 years of large-enterprise IT experience, and now oversees all Starmount information technology (IT) functions and its collaborations with Unum’s global IT services.
Sah and his family have lived in Baton Rouge for the last eight years. In his previous position as IT director and chief information security officer at Texas Children’s Hospital, Sah continued to make Baton Rouge his home, commuting weekly to Houston.
“Leston and Sanjeev possess strong industry knowledge and large enterprise experience, making them a strong fit for each of their new roles,” said Keene. “We are excited to welcome them both to our Starmount leadership team, and to welcome Leston as he joins the Baton Rouge community.”
