Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum Names New Board Officers

The Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum has announced its new board of directors leadership slate for 2018-2019.

The new officers are Michael Fleming, MD, FAAP, president (principal, Fleming Advisors in Shreveport); A.A. “Chard” Richard III, incoming president (area president, Gulf States, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in Baton Rouge); Ruth Kennedy, secretary/treasurer (health policy director, Southern Strategy Group in Baton Rouge); John Carroll, C(k)P, ARPC, CRPC, AAMS, immediate past president (CEO, Wealth Advisor, Wellspring Advisor Group in Alexandria); and David Carmouche, MD, member at large (president, Ochsner Health Network and senior vice president of community care for Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans). 

The returning Quality Forum board members include former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, Lafayette); Daniel Burke, SPHR (corporate benefits director, Turner Industries in Baton Rouge); Chuck Burnell, MD (chief medical officer, Acadian Companies in Lafayette); Jeff Drozda (chief executive officer, Louisiana Association of Health Plans in Baton Rouge); Wes Hataway, JD (legal and policy director, Louisiana Nursing Home Association in Baton Rouge); and Cheryl Tolbert (chief executive officer, Louisiana Business Group on Health in Baton Rouge).

“Dr. Fleming served as the first board president when the Quality Forum was established in 2007. His familiarity with the organization, coupled with his healthcare background, will be invaluable as he returns to board leadership,” said Cindy Munn, chief executive officer. “I am pleased to work with him again as well as the new officers and our board members as the Quality Forum continues to advance its mission to implement and facilitate change for improved healthcare quality and outcomes in our state.”
