BRG School of Nursing Accepting Applicants for 2020 Summer Semester

Baton Rouge General’s School of Nursing (BRGSON) is accepting applications for the 2020 academic year.  Graduates of the program will join the more than 1,000 nursing students who have earned their nursing diploma from BRGSON since 1984.

“We’re excited to welcome the next generation of nurses to our program,” said Monica Nijoka, MHA, BSN, RN, chief nursing officer at BRG. “More than a million RNs are expected to retire in the next decade, and it’s critical that we have an educated workforce to fill their shoes.”

BRGSON’s 18-month diploma program, which requires pre-requisite courses, puts students in a fast-paced nursing curriculum with experienced faculty. After graduating, prospective nurses take the registered nurse license exam (NCLEX-RN) to be licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. BRGSON graduates have historically been recognized for NCLEX pass rates of 94% by first-time test takes, exceeding the national average.
