Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Promotes Sheldon Faulk  to Senior Vice President, Government Business

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has promoted Sheldon Faulk to senior vice president, Government Business. Faulk has led the company’s Government Business Division on an interim basis since Jan. 4, 2018.

“Government Business is an important customer segment in our industry, both nationally and in our state. We are proud to serve both Medicare beneficiaries and Medicaid beneficiaries with a wide range of products in Louisiana and see continued growth in these markets. As these markets continue to grow, we are delighted to have Sheldon serve as the leader of our Government Business Division, as his deep knowledge of both federal and state-sponsored health benefits will help us fulfill our mission of improving the health and lives of Louisianans for these members,” said Dr. I. Steven Udvarhelyi, Blue Cross president and CEO.

Faulk joined Blue Cross in 1997, serving in a number of legal roles, most recently as deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary. He began his career in the healthcare insurance and managed care industry in 1995 at Maxicare Health Plan of Louisiana.

“Blue Cross is a local company with decades of experience and statewide reach, and we are uniquely positioned to serve the needs of our consumers and government customers. I’m honored to be able to work each day to make a positive difference in the lives of Louisianans,” said Faulk.

Faulk holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans. He earned Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate degrees from Loyola University, also in New Orleans.
