More than 2,000 runners participated in the second annual Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital Amazing Half Marathon event this weekend. 

Winners of the half marathon include Charles Anderson (35, Zachary, La.) for the males and Rebecca Younger (27, New Orleans, La.) for the females. John Sanders (45, Lafayette, La.) set a new course record by completing the 10K in 40:27 to finish in first place.

The Louisiana Department of Health will host a series of town hall meetings with clinical providers from across the state to solicit input on the selection of Medicaid performance quality measures.

“Measuring quality in health care provides us an opportunity to refresh our processes to ensure patients are receiving the very best care and the best value for the cost,” said Dr. SreyRam Kuy, Medicaid Chief Medical Officer. “It’s important for us to hear from providers across the state so we can understand their challenges and develop a successful strategy for quality improvement.”

On March 17, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center joins Graduate Medical Education programs across the country for National Resident Match Day. The Match Day celebration at Our Lady of the Lake will reveal the new doctors coming to Baton Rouge for specialty training at Our Lady of the Lake for the next three to five years. The doctors named are the top candidates selected out of thousands of applicants from across the country.

She joins the team with more than 14 years of healthcare experience including 12 years with the Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA). She spent the last year working with Affiliated Enterprise Solutions, specializing in healthcare consulting.
